Our Mission
The mission of Pawsitive Warriors Rescue is to advocate for the welfare and responsible care of animals, protect them from neglect ad cruelty, and promote humane awareness and compassion. We believe that because domestic animals are a product of human intervention, we have a special obligation to them in regard to humane treatment and responsible stewardship. We are committed to finding safe loving, committed, permanent homes for all animals in our care as well as education families to ensure confidence in their decision to adopt, and assistance during difficult times to enable families to keep their beloved pets. As a partner of the community, we promise to accomplish this by demonstrating and upholding our core values of love, respect and integrity in every interaction while having complete respect for life.
Why Volunteers are Needed
Volunteer time and talents are an asset to Pawsitive Warriors Rescue. There are many ways you can make a difference for the welfare of animals. You may wish to work directly with the animals at our shelter or you may get involved with other important aspects of our shelter’s operations. Volunteers help in the following areas: Administration, foster care, education/training, adoption assistants, off site adoption events, animal socializing, dog walking, pet grooming, shelter cleaning, and rescue fundraising events.
Becoming a Volunteer
Join our team! The minimum requirements to become a Warrior are as follows.
-Must be 10 years of age or older (with a signed parent liability waiver)
-Complete a Volunteer Application (must include email address so you can receive communication from the Volunteer Office)
-Have a PASSION for animals!
As a nonprofit (501c3 approved) organization, our budget must be met through the generosity of our supporters. To make sure that every possible penny goes into the care and feeding of the animals in our shelter, we have instituted an orientation fee of $10.00 to cover the cost of your volunteer materials and volunteer t-shirt to help alleviate some strain on the budget. Please submit your orientation fee with your volunteer application. Once your application and fee are received, we will contact you to schedule orientation. This orientation class will help make you feel comfortable in your new role as a Warrior and provide you with an overview of our cause, policies, volunteer opportunities, and hands-on animal handling instruction.
